I graduated with honors from Western States Chiropractic College in 1990 and began my practice in Eugene in September of that year. Since then I've continued studying and enjoy applying a wide variety of post graduate methods for health restoration. Some of them are described in detail in the Techniques and Methods section.
My history "B.C." (Before Chiropractic)
In the mid 70's I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Missouri at Columbia. I worked throughout the country mostly with the National Park Service in a variety of natural resource management positions. While living in Bellingham, WA for a time, I experienced a style of chiropractic called applied kinesiology which fed my increasing interest in the ecology of the human body. Ultimately I took a big leap and went back to school. The holistic nature of applied kinesiology appealed to my interest in a systems approach, and although this chiropractic method was not taught in the basic college program at WSCC in Portland, Oregon, I took advantage of many weekend seminars separate from the basic four year curriculum, including AK. I appreciated these courses for the wider perspective that they provided.
Mission Statement
I see the body as an intelligent self-healing system, continuously responding to internal and external environmental conditions. Trauma, toxicity, inappropriate nutrition, and emotional chaos are all common stressors that may cause adverse adaptation and compromise optimal health. As a chiropractor, my goal is to address these issues as needed, gently supporting the vitality of the whole person and adjusting any maladapted reactions of the body, such that health and healing are most naturally expressed, regardless of the named condition.
